Twitter for Business

X - (Twitter) is an excellent method for you or your business to connect with a large number of people quickly and directly; as if you were having a conversation. There are endless conversations on X - (Twitter) that you can join (or initiate) at any time.

X - (Twitter) is the global water cooler where a variety of informal (or formal) conversations can occur.

Utilizing a platform like X - (Twitter) provides your business with a cost-effective means of interacting with its consumer base. You have access to audiences all over the world and the ability to interact with consumers.

As a means of connecting with consumers and establishing your business as a market leader, albeit in a small niche, niche businesses must utilize social media. Far too many businesses use it to relentlessly promote their products and services, and when they get negative feedback for “spamming”, dismiss X - (Twitter) as "completely useless for our type of business," while a competitor concentrates on conversation and inter-action on X - (Twitter) and reap the huge benefits.

When viewing X for the first time, you may wonder, "Why are so many people, many of whom appear to be random strangers, engaging with each other?"

X appears to be made up of disjointed conversations, interactions, and information at first glance. There are news headlines, political discussions, weather observations, advice requests, and, of course, endless trolling with vicious postings.

4 out of 10 X users say they use the platform to be notified of breaking news, while nearly as many (39%) use it to keep up with general news and 36% to "pass the time." In addition, roughly a quarter of X users (28%) claim to use the platform as a secondary screen during live events.

In other words, X is more than just a real-time service; it is primarily a means of communication.

X is a means of social dissemination in addition to news dissemination. About one-third of X users (31%) use the platform "to share what they are doing and thinking with others." And for a quarter of users, X is a way to "keep in touch with people I know" (24%), as well as a way to "follow famous people" (20%).

There are numerous reasons why people use X:

  • To connect: X allows millions of people around the world to hear what you have to say, and then connects you with those who want to hear from you or converse with you about your interests, passions, and ideas.

  • To document: Many people use X as an online diary; as they walk down the street, they tweet about a new store they'd like to visit when they have more time; typically asking others about their experience in the store. Now everyone who follows you is aware of this intriguing-looking location, and you have a means to remember to return there.

  • To share: People use X to communicate their thoughts, readings, and knowledge. They may tweet links to intriguing articles or items, or they may tweet their own original thoughts, ideas, tips, and tricks. Some tweet their notes from lectures or classes, while others share their inner monologue. Someone will probably find it informative or intriguing.

  • To maintain contact: Entire families and groups of long-term acquaintances use X to maintain contact. X allows you to submit either public or private notes to your friends, and it stores all sent messages, so you do not lose your thoughts when you close your browser. Connecting on X is a great way to maintain an initial connection made at an event or conference, allowing you to progressively get to know the other person over time.

Therefore, your X strategy must focus on how your business will function with the way people use X, rather than simply being a replication of your primary marketing strategy or simply tweeting endlessly about your products.
